Cornell Western Equestrian Team

The Cornell Western Equestrian Team is an undergraduate sports club from Cornell University. We compete in Zone 1, Region 2 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). Our members attend weekly or bi-weekly practices as well as participating in clinics, team dinners, team events, biweekly meetings, fundraising, and philanthropy events. We welcome riders of all levels and backgrounds, and the unique experiences that they bring.  Feel free to check us out on our Facebook page.

Our Team Goals:

"Be the rider that your horse needs you to be."
  • to better our riding abilities
  • to put our horse's needs first
  • to increase team unity and make lasting friendships
  • to build confidence on and off horseback
  • to give back to our community

Meeting our Coach

The team's official IHSA coach is Nicky Kurty! She and her husband Mike own Oakwood Manor in Binghamton, NY. They have participated in many aspects of the horse world and have a great deal of knowledge to pass on. We are so happy they are part of our team family!

As a self-funded student organization, we are always in search of sponsors, donations and fundraising opportunities. We greatly appreciate any helpers, and would like to thank them by offering free advertising on our website, team apparel, and our team banner at horse shows.
